This episode is part three of a four part series on improving your personal productivity.

In the previous two episodes we covered a 5-step system for improving your productivity that breaks down your work day into key phases and aligns a specific productivity approach to each phase.

Ok, I will admit it, I am a tool addict. Having been a technologist and high end consultant for over 20 years, I have helped hundreds of companies architect, design, and implement solutions. There's nothing I like more professionally than diving into my client's requirements, researching options, integrating components, and delivering a solution.

There is a dark side though… I have paid good money for tools I never wind up using. The excitement of something new, the idea of “finding more time”, or just a plain good sale pitch by someone can draw you in.

In this episode you'll learn:

We're going to talk about just a few categories of tools, what I consider the 6 essentials:
  • Notes and Capture
  • Task Management
  • Project Management
  • Team Chat
  • Automation
  • Content Calendar

Action plan:

  2. Before you dive into the tools mentioned in this episode, be sure you listen to episodes 002 and 003 and put your productivity system in place first!
  3. Stay tuned for the next episode where I'll detail how to select and evaluate the tools that will work for you
